(April 06, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The LTTE suicide cadre who targeted Minister Fernandopulle had come in the guise of a marathon runner participating at the New Year sports event, Weliweriya police sources said.
According to available information from hospital sources, “12 persons killed including Minister Fernandopulle, marathon runner K.A. Karunaratne and National Athletic coach Lakshaman De Alwis also another 90 injured in a suicide blast.
Meanwhile, late minister’s funeral to be held on Thursday evening with full state honours , Presidential office sources said.
