(February 2, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) Eelam National Democratic Liberation (ENDLF) headed by Gnanasegaram Easwaran known as Paranthan Rajan has its operational base in Chennai ,Bangalore and Orissa in India. ENDLF is the only other organisation to that of the LTTE which has subscribed to the demand for separate state of Tamil state in Sri Lanka. The official addresses of the ENDLF according to their website is 6/7, Poornima Appartment, United India Colony, Second Main Road, Kodambakkam, Chennai - 600 024. Their London office is situated at 37, Whittington Way, PINNER HA5 5JS, U.K.
ENDLF has no political, military or terror influence in Sri Lanka since they migrated to India nearly twenty years ago. Within the past two years, it had made some attempts to show its presence in Sri Lanka by setting up a military base in the East with the help of Karuna. Unfortunately this was short lived and they had to soon pack their bags back to India, due to their terrible anti-social activities there.
It is now claimed that ENDLF have agreed a minimum working programme with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and also have secured some financial help from them. As an organisation functioning from India for nearly 20 years, it has become a valuable source for the LTTE.
One of the main advantages of LTTE aligning with the ENDLF is said to gather important local information about individuals in India and the ENDLF’s latest Tamil website does this partly by revealing personal details about individuals to be targeted by the LTTE.
According to very reliable sources, ENDLF members have committed many serious murders in the Indian soil. One of them was an Indian citizen. The accounts of the murders committed by them are very chilling and grotesque and are beyond comprehension. Unfortunately, none of these deaths have been fully investigated and the killers are at large. The ENDLF’s recent alignment with the LTTE is likely to lead to further atrocities by this group.
The organisation does not have any political ideology or ability to engage in any programme of political or military nature to espouse its agenda. It is clearly a criminal gang involved in murders, kidnapping, extortions, money laundering, drug dealings, rapes etc. and is able to continue to walk free without falling into the hands of the security establishment.
The murders committed by the ENDLF will be serialised in this column (at the rate of two murders) as it is time some action is taken against this group to put an end to such crimes. Their association with the LTTE will lead to serious security problems for India, as they will function as LTTE’s agents to engage in nefarious and terror activities to cause greater harm.
Murder No: 1
Victim Murali Master. He was the deputy leader of Tamil Eelam Liberation Army (TELA). It is now a dysfunctional organisation and its leader was Obroi Thevan who was killed by the LTTE in 1983.
Murali Master became the leader of TELA following Obroi Thevan. While in India, he wanted to expand the activities of TELA. For this, he committed himself to full scale recruitment campaign of Sri Lankan Tamils in India. As part of the drive, he approached Paranthan Rajan of ENDLF. Rajan had promised him honey in the golden cup. He told him there is large number of Tamil refugee children managed by them in the state of Orissa in a camp.
Paranthan Rajan sent Murali Master with his cadres to Orissa after having finalised the financial deal for the supply of children. Murali Master had taken with him Indian Rs. 3lakhs to fulfil the contract, once he had chosen the agreed number of children.
Murali Master received first class entertainment in Orissa. On his arrival, he interviewed some parents and children in the camp. He also had a meeting that night with the ENDLF men. On the second day too he was involved in the recruitment drive. After this, he was taken on a site seeing trip around Orissa. He was to travel back on the next day and a seat was booked in a national bus.
After returning from the sight seeing trip, all had their dinner and some discussion had taken place. All went to sleep after that. Around mid-night one of the ENDLF men went and held Murali Master by his throat while he was sleeping and forced his pillow on his face and suffocated him. After struggling for few minutes Murali Master succumb to the pressure and died.
The assailant and his accomplices had then buried the body in the nearby jungle. To this date no investigations had been carried out and Mano Master’s remains are lying in the place it is buried. It is said Murali Master was killed to grab the Rs 300,000 he was carrying with him.
Murder No 2
Victim name not known. The victim is said to be an Indian National from Erode in Tamil Nadu. He was employed by a famous transport company Vijayananda Road Line (VRL) in Bangalore. The company was stone throwaway from Tamil school run by the ENDLF.
This driver was a down to earth person and visits the ENDLF school whenever he gets time. He became well acquainted with the ENDLF men and the children. Noteworthy of his help was when he went out of the way to get the landlord of his company Mr Sandarappa to supply free water to the school. He will play with the children, give them sweets and food.
During this time, ENDLF was financially bankrupt and said to be engaging in petty criminal activities.
This victim driver when he gets his pay, he will spend part of it on the children. One day, when he visited the school with his pay packet, Paranthan Rajan’s brother Gnanananthan also known as Piravan confronted him and cunningly waylaid him to a quiet no-mans place nearby. He was strangled and suffocated to death. In order to eliminate his identity, his face was repeatedly attacked by a rock. Then the body with the mutilated face was dumped in the nearby canal. This incident had taken place approximately five years ago.
After killing the man, the assailant had taken away his RC book and the identity documents. The motive for the murder was said to take his pay packet from him.
The Karnataka police found the dead body. It was reported in the local media. The police had to dispose the body, as it was beyond recognition. To this date the family members of the victim do not know the fate of this driver.
