Bogollagam's wife appointed as personal assistant

(February 03, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama has appointed his wife Deepthi to his Ministry this week as his personal assistant.

Meanwhile, Foreign Office sources said that the President approved the appointments of SLFP lawyer Senaka Walgampaya PC as High Commissioner to Australia, prominent criminal lawyer Daya Perera as High Commissioner to Canada and retired Foreign Secretary H.M.G.S.

Palihakkara as the Permanent Representative to the United Nations, as reported in The Sunday Times a fortnight ago.

Meanwhile it is reliably learnt that a Supreme Court Judge, who is due to retire soon is now tipped to be appointed as the country’s next High Commissioner to Britain. (2-2-08)
